Meet the Founder

DLHolton, LCSW | Writer • Creator • Founder of Cornerleaf Press

DLHolton is a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, writer, and lifelong creative spirit who believes that stories and creativity have a special way of connecting us to ourselves and one another.

Throughout her career as a psychotherapist, she has helped individuals navigate life’s challenges, embrace personal growth, and find meaning through difficult experiences. Her clinical background has shaped her appreciation for the power of storytelling, reflection, and human connection.

That perspective inspired her children’s book, The Time We Took a Pause, a gentle story created to help children understand family changes while reassuring them that love can remain steady, even during uncertain times.

But her creative interests extend beyond writing.

An avid crocheter and the creative force behind Yarn Barn Studios, she finds joy in transforming simple strands of yarn into something meaningful. Her love of crochet inspired Stitches Worth Remembering: A Crochet Project Journal & Keepsake, a thoughtfully designed journal that encourages makers to document not only their projects, but also the memories, discoveries, and personal stories woven into each creation.

As the founder of Cornerleaf Press, an independent publishing imprint, she brings together her professional experience and creative passions to develop books and journals that encourage connection, imagination, and reflection.

Whether through a heartfelt children’s story, a thoughtfully designed journal, or a handmade creation, her philosophy remains the same:

The things we create—and the stories behind them—are worth remembering.
